Volunteering

Street Forge Workshops encourages volunteers to attend the project, for a number of reasons:

• Volunteers bring new skills to the project
• Volunteers have different / new experiences
• Volunteers facilitate higher staff /  service user ratios and more personal attention
• Working at Street Forge may assist the volunteer to better fulfil or develop their own needs

All volunteers will be supervised by employed staff members and will not be asked to undertake work which they are not skilled for, without supervision or support. Where appropriate, training may be offered. Although volunteers are not paid for their time, expenses incurred due to the performance of their duties will be reimbursed.

Interested in volunteering?

If you decide you would like to volunteer then we will discuss with you how to best use or even develop your skills, what kind work you will undertake and the appropriate degree of supervision or assistance. Of course, CRB checks and references will be needed, but that comes later.
