Wood Turning & Wood Carving Courses
Street Forge workshops are now offering commercial Wood Turning
and Wood Carving courses to anyone wishing to learn these
age-old skills. These courses are carried out in our recently
refurbished workshop using brand new machinery and tooling.
Courses are run at both beginner and intermediate levels and
a series of 'Master Classes' are also available for those
who want to take their skills to the next level.
2
and 3 day courses are run throughout the week and are scheduled
to best fit in with those attending them. Weekend courses
can also be arranged if required. Each course is limited to
four participants. This number affords each learner ample
operating space and plenty of time with the instructor. All
tools, machinery and safety equipment are provided to each
learner. Lunch and refreshments are also provided on each
day of the course at no extra charge.
Wood Turning courses at Street Forge Workshops have been
made possible with support and kind donations from the Worshipful
Company of Turners of London. For more information please
visit their website: www.turnersco.com.
About the Instructor - Dick Waller
Dick
has worked with wood for all of his working life starting
out as a carpenters apprentice at just 15. Since then he has
worked with many wood working companies and organisations
and acrued a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Dick has been carving and turning for 35 years using these
skills as a Master Craftsman with the Ministry of Ancient
Monuments - a government body responsible for the maintenance
and restoration of medieval churches, castles and windmills.
Street Forge Workshops can help course participants to organise
and order personal turning and carving tools and equipment
through our partnership with Axminster Power Tools who usually
offer a 'next day' delivery service. This will ensure that
you get the best kit for your money available to use during
the course if you wish. You can see Axminster's vast selection
at their website; www.axminster.co.uk.
