We are a small charity based in the beautiful Suffolk countryside which offers day services to Adults with various disabilities including those with multiple disabilities and / or mild mental health problems, sustained brain injury and long term conditions.
We were established over 30 years ago, as a result of a group of people with physical disabilities themselves, their families, friends and interested professionals who created a committee to lobby for workshops offering opportunities in the following activities:
- Art and Craft
- Computer Skills
- Wood Turning
We are open Monday – Friday and we welcome the public to come and visit our workshops to see our clients at work, as many are involved in creating and making high quality products.
Our bird boxes and wildlife items are all made to RSPB specification with sustainable wood and are our main attraction. Together with growing and selling our plants and vegetables and making various craft items, we attend a number of shows throughout the year to sell our goods.
Street Forge has a superb team of part time staff and active volunteers, who together bring a wealth of skills and expertise to our provision of a meaningful day services.
Our mission statement is:
We are here ‘to enhance the quality of life and to enable the people using our service achieve a sense of purpose through social skills, social enterprise and through undertaking our various activities’
